Cookie Policy
This page lists the categories of cookies and similar storage used by this website, and explains how to control them.
Strictly necessary
The tools themselves need no cookies to work. The keyboard test and the typing test are plain code running in your browser, so nothing has to be remembered on a server between requests. If the hosting provider or the security layer sets a technical cookie, it exists only to serve pages correctly and cannot be refused without breaking the site.
Preferences, and an honest note on terminology
Your light or dark theme, the keyboard layout you selected, and your saved personal records are kept in your browser's local storage, which is not a cookie. It is a separate storage area with three practical differences: it is never attached to network requests, it does not expire on its own, and browser settings usually list it as site data rather than cookies.
The distinction matters when you try to remove it. Deleting cookies alone may leave your records in place. Clearing site data or cached data for this domain removes them.
Advertising
This site plans to display advertisements from Google AdSense. Once advertising is active, Google and its partner vendors may set cookies to measure ad delivery and, subject to your consent where consent is required, to personalise the ads you see based on your earlier visits to this or other websites.
Details of those cookies and the available opt outs are described in the privacy policy, including Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info/choices.
Consent for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, advertising and measurement cookies are set only after consent is given through a consent management tool certified by Google under its consent framework. The tool appears before any non essential cookie is set, offers a genuine refusal option, and can be reopened later to change or withdraw your choice.
Refusing consent does not restrict access to either tool. Both work identically without advertising cookies.
Blocking cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually in the privacy section of its settings.
- Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Third party cookies.
- Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions.
- Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings or Preferences, Privacy.
- Mobile browsers: the same options appear under Settings, then Privacy.
Clearing this site's data
To remove everything this site has stored on your device, including your saved records:
1. Open the site, then open the padlock or information icon next to the address. 2. Choose the option for cookies and site data, then delete the data for this domain. 3. Alternatively, use the reset control next to your saved records, which clears them without touching other sites.
Deleted records cannot be restored.
